ABOUT ME

I am a Ukulele and Viola player from Ann Arbor Michigan and was born in Kazakhstan in 2005. I have one younger brother and sometimes he and I do not get along. He was born in 2008 in the same country as me but in a different city and he likes sports and video games which is the complete opposite of what I like, which is music. My music career  started with the violin when I was 5 and switched to the viola in middle school because there were not enough viola players in our orchestra. Then in 2013 I bought my first ukulele from a music store in Ann Arbor Michigan called Oz's Music. Then a friend of my brother's dad asked me if I wanted to join the Ann Arbor ukulele club called the Tree Town Ukes and I said yes and loved it ever since. Then in 2020 when we shut down because of Covid 19 I was just finishing 8th grade and had to start doing school online. Then in my 9th grade year we had to still do school online but we had zoom classes with our teachers. Next thing I thought about what would be a fun thing to do with music online and that got me to start doing monthly ukulele livestream jams and concerts on my YouTube channel and sometimes had people join but not every month. Then in 2022 I was in 10th grade and started going to a teen place in downtown Ann Arbor Michigan called the Neutral Zone and have learned to use a loop pedal and preformed at a lot of events there including some of the open mics and am working on adding the other instruments to my original song and hope to record it in the studio they have at the Neutral Zone. Then in January of 2023 I had submitted a video audition of my original song for the Detroit Youth Choir and got an email saying they wanted me to come for an in person audition and did and got in and started rehearsals twice a week learning the singing and choreography for the spring show. It was a lot of fun but after about 6 months they asked me to start working on my dancing and that’s when I decided to quit the group and move on. It was a big decision but I’m so glad I tried it and could focus on fishing high school. Then the year after that I got a chance to record my first original song in the studio at the Neutral Zone and is now on Spotify. In the spring of 2024, I had my graduation high school ceremony at the Eastern Michigan University which is where I’m at now and will be for the next 4 years. I am now at Eastern Michigan University studying music therapy, in the university orchestra, learning the piano, hanging out with my new friends I met in my first school year of college. I'm also excited I started my first band with 2 friends were called Vicalely & The Non Music Majors. I hope to do and get more opportunities to perform and do great things in my near future.
